In 2001 the Denver mint struck the first Buffalo Commemorative Silver Dollar. Reviving the design of James Earle Fraser’s Buffalo Nickel, the obverse features a composite portrait of a Native American while the reverse features an American Buffalo. When this coin was released the mint sold out of every last coin within the first two weeks, making it sought after by collectors around the world. The buffalo nickel design is one of America’s favorite designs, so it is no surprise that when blown up to Silver Dollar size this coin became an instant classic. Just one of these fantastic coins is currently available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition so act fast.
